We are beginning to see yellows! The temperatures are getting cool in the evenings which will help bring out the orange and reds. We have finally received some rain which should help the trees. Unfortunately with the extreme drought we experienced this summer, a good portion of the trees turned brown before the fall season but we still have plenty of green that can turn! The first weekend in November is historically the best weekend to view. Come enjoy the Scenic Drive Saturday, November 5th and enjoy end to end fall festivals! Talihina will host their 34th annual fall foliage
The foliage has not began changing as of yet. The few colors we are seeing is from the dry weather we have experienced. We are estimating the best time to view the foliage is the last week of October and the first part of November. Stay tuned for a weekly photo so you can see what the Talimena Scenic Drive looks like!
The leaves have been difficult to predict this year with weather conditions. We are seeing a lot of yellows, some oranges, and a touch of reds. This week and upcoming weekend will be prime viewing time for this year. We fear that much time after this weekend will cause the leaves to just fall off instead of change colors due to the dry conditions we had early on. Come visit Talimena this weekend and stop at our Fall Foliage Festival November 6th!
Changing temperatures and shorter daylight hours help promote the fall colors we all enjoy! Temperatures are just now starting to cool off and will help the leaves begin to change. Talimena Scenic Drive is showing some yellows and a few oranges but does not have the vibrant colors we normally love. We are estimating October 26th - November 6th for the best foliage colors. This year we have experienced less rainfall so conditions are dry and will also affect the foliage. Check out our Fall Foliage Festival on November 6th if you come that weekend for the Drive! Be sure
We are estimating peak foliage for this year to be between October 20th - November 6th. The Scenic Drive is still pretty green with yellows and some oranges on smaller trees. The leaves have not started to change to the gorgeous oranges or reds yet. Next week the evening temperatures are predicted to drop and should help the leaves begin to turn! Unfortunately the conditions are dry this year so the foliage may not last long. Check back for updates next week!
This week the leaves are just now turning yellow. We are not seeing any of the gorgeous oranges or reds yet. Though there is not a 100% accurate way to predict the best color time. It is estimated that the end of October into the first week of November will be the peak foliage time.
